LEVEL Legal Services in Kommersant Publishing House's "Deals of the Year" ranking
29 / 09 / 2023
M&A deals significant for the Russian market in 2022 and the first half of 2023

The Institute of M&A transactions retains its status as an indicator of economic processes. In a separate ranking, Kommersant Publishing House selected and systematized the deals submitted by law firms that, according to the editorial board, most clearly reflect capital flow trends for the period from February 2022 to September 2023.

The ranking includes M&A deals submitted by law firms and selected by Kommersant's editorial team for the period from February 2022 to September 2023. The ranking includes transactions classified as domestic (when the asset is located in Russia and the buyer is a Russian resident, but the seller is a foreign investor) and transactions of Russian investors abroad.

However, due to the impossibility to cover all such projects in a single article, the cut-off threshold is deals that are not partially or fully under NDA. Not all cases are made public and not all law firms are willing to share information about the participants, substance or value of the transaction. Companies with large clients with the prospect of long-term cooperation are often bound by confidentiality obligations and do not provide information about such cases for research. To minimize these risks, the editorial team relied on both law firm representatives and publicly available information.

A transaction involving LEVEL Legal Services to acquire VK's 51% stake in Medium Quolity Production LLC (Medium Quolity Production produces the shows "What Happened Next?", Roast Battle, "I Know Myself", "Blitz Creek", Big Russian Boss Show, the series "Inside Lapenko", "Sozvon" and others).
